The Secret Meanings of Moles in Your Body, Is This True or a Myth?

April 10th, 2009

Moles in the body are believed to have meanings, and they either symbolize good or bad fate. Most of the firm believers in the meaning of moles are the Chinese Taoists who consider moles as signs of good luck of bad luck depending on which part of the body they are located. The size and color of the moles are also meaningful and they connote the future of the human being.

A tiny mole on the feet may signify opportunities for travel, and a dark red dot on the hand is associated to a particular skill or luck. Moles which are located at the shoulder and at the back are interpreted to have some kind of burden a person has to carry in his entire life. When moles are visible in front of the body, they are believed to attract success and good fortune.

If you have mole on the upper chest, it means a happy life with minor problems, but you need to be careful of your health when you reach the age of 50. If the mole is on the tummy, it signifies that your life will be smooth and safe, as well as great fortune awaits you. In this case, the smaller and darker the mole is, the better it is.

In Southeast Asia, believers say that the moles on the body of a person are considered secret stamps brought from the previous life. They are marks of past karma, the wrong doings as well as good deeds, meant as a reminder to the person either to reform or to continue his deeds in the present life. Others claim that moles are secret messages of good fate and misfortune that can lead to a significant turning point in one’s life.

But what if the person does not know the meaning of his moles, how can he rectify or continue his deeds? This is just like asking what if a person does not know the meaning of dark clouds in the sky. Although the first proposition is more of paranormal and the 2nd one is more of science, there are many things on earth which remain uncovered and unexplained, rendering them as plain myths.

People tend to believe only when the effects of a theory are felt, and when they do, it becomes a phenomenon.

Each visible mole on the body signifies a secret meaning, or shows some hidden obstacle to a good life or to receive unexpected help from other people. On certain occasions, the message conveyed by the mole is so significant that it could even be read almost transparently as something that will bring bad luck to the family.

On the other hand, it can also be interpreted as something to revere that whoever has the mole in the family would be highly revered. Different cultures believe that the larger and the more prominent the mole is, the greater its power. Another interpretation is that lighter-colored moles prevent good fortune. Do you believe in this, or it’s a plain myth?

Do you Believe that Feng Shui is a Science, not a Myth or Superstition?

March 24th, 2009

Feng Shui is about location, direction and time; knowing how the metaphysical forces of nature called “Qi or Chi” in the environment affect human beings.

It is considered by the Chinese as a scientific belief; the knowledge of the law of nature; the study and understanding of the environmental influences to people.  It is a scientific way of knowing how to harness the positive energy called Chi in the environment to aid people in enhancing the important elements of life towards growth and prosperity.

Feng Shui is a common practical application on how to live in harmony with the environment to reap the best possible benefits from doing it.  It is a kind of formula related to metaphysics, which cleverly works with the law of Nature.  This formula is used to enhance one’s good luck during timely periods to have a better chance of gaining success, and preventing losses and misfortunes during untimely periods.

If you are destined to meet a calamity in your life, with the help of Feng Shui, you can thwart or minimize these misfortunes.  Instead of having a serious mishap, you can get away with it or just have a minor one.

But Feng Shui is not about placing of objects and ornaments to what people referred to as “Lucky Charms”.  It is not merely an art of interior decoration in the home that by simply placing an object inside and outside of the home, you can avoid things to happen.  In the law of nature, a stone is just a stone or it is just a metal whether it is gold or silver.  The only thing that differs in them is their value which is more on the law of man than the law of nature.

Many people around the world believe that Feng Shui brings wealth and prosperity. This is a wrong perception; it is rather about opportunities; maximizing the benefits provided by the law of nature but first understanding its use and how to care for life and the environment.  It is not as what you see on TV and movies, possessing great mystical powers to twist one’s fate, gaining power and becoming rich over night.

Part of Feng Shui knowledge has something to do with the correct placement of furniture and equipment in the home.  The 4 major directions of the earth which include the North, South, East and West have strong influence on human beings as they represent the 4 major elements of life.  North symbolizes water, South symbolizes fire, the East for wood, and West for metal.

Believers never place a cooking stove in the North because they claim that the fire that is produced from the stove opposes the element of the North which is water, thus, they clash against each other resulting in a calamity for the occupants.

This is just an example of Feng Shui belief furnished by what they call Feng Shui Masters, and there are a lot more to know.  It now depends on how you take them, whether to believe them or not.

4 Interesting Stories of Creation

March 12th, 2009

Whatever your religious beliefs may be, the concept of creation has always been a controversial subject.  Ever since human beings have inhabited the earth, different people from all over the world have come up with various myths, theories and ideas about how the earth was created and how humans came to live here.  We will describe for you some of the more interesting creation stories in human history.

The first is one of many Hindu myths of creation.  According to this story, there once lived a gigantic creature named Purusha who had a thousand heads, eyes and feet.  Purusha surrounded the earth and the gods eventually sacrificed him.  At the time of sacrifice, his body produced a butter that became the animals on earth.  His body parts became the elements of the earth, several of the gods and the four Hindu castes.

In China there exists a second creation myth which is based on an egg floating in the cosmos and containing the yin and yang forces.  Pan-gu was the first to emerge from the egg once it matured.  The yin, or heaviest parts of the egg formed the earth while the lighter parts or yang became the sky.  Pan-gu, wishing to prevent the yin and yang from rejoining, stood on the earth and held the sky up.  Once the sky was 30,000 miles away from the earth, Pan-gu died and his parts became the elements of the universe.  Some people theorize that fleas on Pan-gu became human beings while others believe that the goddess Nuwa created men out of mud.

We travel to ancient Egypt for our third creation story.  The Egyptians had several creation myths.  I n one myth, Atum, an omniscient eye, came into existence by the sheer force of its own will.  It create the god of air, Shu and the goddess of moisture, Tefnut.  The two siblings created the earth and the sky and worked to create order in the universe.  Shu and Tefnut became lost however and Atum removed its eye to try to locate them.  When it found them, it cried tears of joy and these tears fell to earth, creating humans.

A fourth creation myth comes from ancient Babylon and begins with the gods of fresh and salt water, Apsu and Tiamat.  These gods created numerous other gods, including the god Ea.  The new gods were very noisy and disturbed the sleep of Apsu and Tiamat.  Apsu planned to kill the new gods but Ea managed to murder Apsu before he could carry out his plan.  Ea joined forces with one of the goddesses to create a giant god to protect them from Tiamat who was seeking to avenge Apsu’s death.  This giant god eventually killed Tiamat and split her body, creating the heavens with one half and the earth with the other half.   The giant then created humans to do the jobs that the gods would not.

These creation myths are very fascinating and very different from the creation stories of the world’s major religions today.  However you may seem some similarities among them all.  In any case they are an important part of understanding ancient cultures and interesting as well!
