10 Reasons Why the Dead Sea is Considered a Phenomenon rather than a Myth

April 15th, 2009

People might come to ask why it is called the Dead Sea when it appears to be much alive, dazzling and sunny, with beautiful clear and clean waters. The Dead Sea which is situated 15 miles East of Jerusalem between Israel and Jordan, is on the lowest part of the earth and the 2nd saltiest sea in the world where no living animals or plants thrive. The Dead Sea is in fact a lake but unlike most lakes, it is filled with salt water.

This lake came into form 2 million years ago and maintains the same purity of its waters up to the present time. The weather in this place is hot, sunny and dry all year-round and has a fresh environment away from pollution.

The waters of the Dead Sea are miraculously used for health and well-being. The high volume of minerals that are beneficial to human health such as potassium, sulfur, calcium, bromine, collagen and many others are used to cleanse, heal and enable the body cells to discard unwanted toxins. Even the mud which is mineral-filled from the Dead Sea offers a kind of treatment in the body called Balneotherapy.

From the ancient times till now, many people have come to the Dead Sea to enjoy its salty waters rich in minerals for healing and soaking purposes. History tells that Cleopatra liked the Dead Sea intensely and realizing the cosmetic benefits of its waters, she initiated building-up of cosmetic factories along its shores.

King Herod also saw that the site was good for a wonderful retreat so, he built several fortresses and palaces along its shores on the West. The elements available in the area were used by the Egyptians to embalm and mummify the bodies of the dead. The Dead Sea was in the home of Lot as mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures and Islamic books.

According to the Bible, Lot’s tribe has indulged in homosexual activities which were forbidden by God so, it is said that it rained with sulfur all over the place turning all the dwellers into bodies of salt, including Lot’s wife who failed to heed the advise of the angels not to look back, but sparing Lot.

The Dead Sea has also a great historical significance to Jesus and John the Baptist who wandered in its surrounding areas. The Bible mentions that the sea was prophesied to be habitable with fish and plant life one day. An ancient community called the Essenes also settled in the Dead Sea and their writings were discovered contained in 2 jars which were given the name Dead Sea Scrolls.

The historical place attracted Greek Orthodox monks to build monasteries for worshippers and pilgrims. For thousands of years, Bedouins have also dwelt in the area and became the natives of the land.

Today, the Dead Sea area is filled with golf courses, retreats, spas and resorts. Tourists from all over the world visit the scenic beauty of the sea and its natural surroundings to swim, soak and feel the healing effects of this phenomenal body of water.

5 Reasons to Believe that a Curse can Take its Toll on Human Beings

April 11th, 2009

Do you believe that a curse can take its course on human beings, or it’s just a myth? What many people knew of curse is something that a person speaks against an enemy or anyone who has committed a wrong doing to experience difficulties or misfortunes in payment of his misdeeds. A curse that sticks upon a person’s mind can be placed there either intentionally or unintentionally as a consequence of an impulsive anger.

There are various types of curses to deal with such as negative thoughts wielding power against a person or as spoken words.

These curses work the same way as they work on prayer, while wishing confusion, chaos and all kinds of bad luck against the other person. This ritual known as “psychic prayer” is a violent expression of evil wished upon another person.

Assuming that you are a righteous person and the anointing of God moves through your body and spirit, but there are many heartaches and trials confronting you, and suddenly, you are overwhelmed with thoughts of hatred and turbulence.  You become devastated to the extent of cursing the persons who caused your agony.

Curse can be done also through backbiting or gossiping against one’s enemy. In this kind of curse, the person cannot wait for the axe to fall through bad fate. He wants misfortune to come quickly to his enemy through isolation made by his own initiative.

The first persons cursed on earth were Adam and Eve, followed by their son, Cain. Many more curses took place on earth which took their toll on human beings including the curse on Sodom and Gommorha which led to their devastation, and the Great Flood during the time of Noah.

The infamous Curse of the Billy Goat has been published in a new book taken from newspaper articles from Chicago’s past to uncover the truth about the Curse of the Billy Goat.

The legend discusses one of the most infamous baseball curses in the history of baseball, concerning the Chicago Cubs’ 1969 defeat in the tournament, and the stunning collapses of 1984 and 2003.  Today, the Curse of the Billy Goat is unbelievably inter-connected with the history of Chicago and the Chicago Cubs.

This curse arose when William “Billy Goat” Sianis, a Greek immigrant came to watch the game of the 1945 World Series played by Chicago Cubs at the Wrigley Field, with his pet goat which had a bad odor. However, a squad of ushers drove Billy and his pet goat away after an angry crowd demanded for their dismissal from the stadium due to the smell of his pet.

After a long argument with ushers and the members of the Chicago Cubs, Billy Goat Sianis cast a curse upon the Chicago Cubs that they would never play again in any game of the World Series.  Consequently, the Chicago Cubs lost the 1945 World Series when they were strongly beaten in the 7th game, followed by loses in the years 1969, 1984 and 2003 major events.

The Giant Nephilims Built the Pyramids of Egypt, Is this True or a Myth

April 11th, 2009

In Genesis, it was mentioned that there were Giants on earth during those days and when the sons of God acquired the daughters of men, their offspring became mighty men as well called Anakim.

When men could no longer sustain their hunger, the giants consumed mankind and anything that can satisfy them like birds, reptiles, fish, and beasts. When there were few things to eat, they devoured each other’s flesh and drink their blood.

This is the reason, as well as the earth was filled with corruption of the flesh and violence, that the Great Flood had come to the Earth. Stories about half man-half beast, and half man-half bird have soon arose and they lived long time ago and even during historical times.

There is a theory that the Nephilims or their offspring called Anakims who had mysterious power, survived the Great Flood apart from Noah and his group. Many children of the Anakims still lived during the time of Moses, Joshua, Saul and David. In fact, most of the offspring of the Anakims were Kings and they ruled over the human population after the flood, being worshipped as Gods and Demigods.

The Giant Nephilims were approximately 100 meters tall and therefore, they had no problem carrying heavy stones and build towering structures. They had big and powerful tools which were unbelievable, and because of their strength and powerful muscles, they were able to carry or transport stones weighing thousands of tons.

In truth, the Giant Nephilims constructed most of the Pyramids in Egypt, not the Pharaohs as believed by many. Great structures built all over the world on the ground and below sea level were done by these Giant Nephilims. Scholars are aware that the Pyramids of Egypt can’t be built by mere human beings even with the use of modern machineries. They were constructed in a way which is mysterious and even experts cannot conclude that they were made by men.

The Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramids of Egypt and many other structures all over the world such as the Temples in India, Mexico and other places in South America were built by giants. Big cities like Tiauanacu in Bolivia, India’s Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa, England’s Stonehenge, Megaliths located in Bretagne France, Hunnebeds in The Netherlands and Germany and Baalbek found in Lebanon were built by Giants and not by human beings or Homo Sapiens. A great number of artifacts including giant tools and giant skulls are kept in museums which origins are unknown.

The big question now is that, if indeed there were giants who built huge historical structures, what was their motive? Did they work as slaves to receive food from their masters? They could acquire whatever they wanted with their height and mighty power so, there was no reason to be enslaved by small people and work heavily just to gain food.

Another thing is that if they can eat human flesh and devour each other, why do they have to show prudence in erecting significant buildings? Lastly, were Nephilims or Anakims only made of men and no women? It’s still worth thinking deeply if this is true, or just a myth.
