Gone the old days when we all used Notepad for our purposes, now a days its all about Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is a lot fancier, you can add some nice touches to it, beautiful fonts and images here and there, but one thing that really bothers me with Acrobat Reader is the speed. It takes it soo much time to load even though I am running a Quad Core 4 gig Ram, with nothing running on my background. And I have lots of pdf files so I cannot go with Notepad either.
After a month of frustration, I found the solution how to speed up Acrobat Reader almost 500x faster. I was amazed that now Acrobat reader was loading faster than the notepad, it made me kind of think, woow I wish I knew this trick before.
Anyway here is the trick to speed up Acrobat Reader so fast that it will load faster than Windows Notepad. This is 100% Guaranteed to speed up your Acrobat Reader.
Step 1 – Go to the installation folder of Acrobat Reader
(the installation folder is in Program Files – C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat\Reader\ or Reader 8.0)
Step 2 – Find the folder named plugins.
(In my case it was – C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\plug_ins)
Step 3 – Select all the files plus folders inside the plugins folder.
(you must select everything within the plugin folder, everything**)
Step 4 – Once you have all the files/folders inside selected click “Edit –>Cut or Control+X”
Step 5 – Once you have cut all the files, paste them under the Optional Folder which is inside the Reader folder.
(the folder is inside the reader, the exact location, you just have to get out of Plugins folder and you will find a folder named Optional, if it is not there then create a folder named Optional, Adobe 8.0 have one but older versions did not have this folder, so create it)
Step 6 – You are done, now try to load a PDF file and watch the SPEED, you will be amazed how faster it loads.
