How did Tennis Get It’s Name?

The game started in the 11th century, French monks started playing this in their monastery. They played this with a crude handball, it was a kind of handball with a rope strung across a courtyard. The game progressed and gained good following around the world, specially the royalties. The 13th century, the game came to England, whenever the ball went over the net, French players shouted “Tenez”. Which translates to take that, the English kept the word Tenez but modified it to Tennis.

The tennis player with the most championships won and matches won, is J. Connors, he has won 109 titles and around 1222 matches won.
