October 21st, 2009

Many proud Scotts have this as their tattoo but  I’m going to tell you some facts about it’s history and etc..

-The thistle was founded during the rein of Alexander III (1449 – 1286)

- It is the national emblem of Scotland and here is why, Norwegian soldiers were invading a Scottish camp, when the Scottish were sleeping. The Norgies wanted to be dead silent, so they removed their footwear. And one of the soldiers stepped on a Thistle and screamed. Thus wakening every Scottish Soldier and resulting in Norway’s defeat.

-The first coin with the Thistle was issued in 1470 by King James III.

Those are just a few important facts I could find.
